Cost Comparison
Full-Time Employee Cost vs. Virtual Assistant Cost Matrix
We base our virtual assistant (VA) rates on hourly rates, but unlike a full-time employee, you're not charged for all of the hours of a full-time employee unless you need it. If you don't need a full-time employee, this could save your company substantially over the year. In fact, you can save thousands annually with part-time virtual support!
Simple example - Administrative Assistant
| Employee (W2) | Contractor (1099) | VA (B2B) | |
| Basic Hourly Rate | $16.00 | $24.00 | $30.00 |
Benefits @ 35%
|
+ $5.00 | 0 | 0 |
Overhead @ 35%
|
+ $5.00 | + $5.00 | 0 |
Productivity @ 85%*
|
+ $2.00 | + $3.00 | 0 |
| Total Hourly Rate | $28.00 | $32.00 | $30.00 |
| Annual Hours | 2080 (40 hr/wk) | 2080 (40 hr/wk) | 520 (10 hr/wk) |
| Total Annual Cost | $58,240.00 | $66,560.00 | $15,600.00 |
*The typical first shift, 8am-5pm, includes 1 1 hr lunch break to total an 8 hr day, but also typically includes 2 15 minute breaks of unproductive time plus another 30 minutes or more during the day for a typical employee. That's at least 10-15% or more of a typical employee's total time being non-productive which effectively raises the cost of retaining an employee.
